Jurgen “Bob” Robert Schultz, 79, of Marshalltown, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at Southridge Specialty Care.

Jurgen Robert Schultz was born on March 28, 1949 in Heidelberg, Germany. He was the son of Elizabeth Swartz. Bob graduated from West Marshall High School in 1965.


On August 4, 1982, Bob was united in marriage to Renee Six in Marshalltown. Bob had worked for twenty-five plus years for the Grey Iron Foundry as a black sand molder. He was a jack-of-all-trades, and enjoyed coaching softball with his wife, as well as being the grounds keeper at the Rhodes ball field. Bob also was a previous member of the American Legion in Rhodes, and in Marshalltown and took great pride in providing the twenty-one gun salutes for years. Bob enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs and Iowa Hawkeyes, and he has watched every Superbowl game. He also liked relaxing with a cup of coffee, and he was an avid dog lover, especially of his dog Trig Allen. He loved listening to music of all genres, and was known to be a jokester. Bob loved meeting new people, and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Bob was also a member of the Redmen Lodge for years in Baxter, Iowa. Bob loved taking long rides with his wife, Renee just listening to music and singing along. He will be very missed by his family.


Bob is survived by his wife of 42 years, Renee; children: Kindra (Cody) Lindsey of Nevada, Joseph Luetje of Nevada, Megan (Chris) Holloway of Winters, Texas, Heidi (Michael Martinez) Hala of Marshalltown, and Dillon (Danielle) Schultz of Marshalltown. Grandchildren: Abbie (Trevor), Josie (Dakota), Samantha, Gracie, Vayda and Chloe. He is also survived by his great-granddaughter: Copelynn; siblings: Barbara Wyatt and Deiter Herker along with the Lopez family, Mike and Jerilyn Millican, John and Jackie Six family and Vicki and Duane Jackson family.


Bob is preceded in death by his mother: Elizabeth and five siblings: Henry, Harry, Mary Lou, Tom and Karen and mother-in-law: Anna Six.
