Justin Waltemeyer

Justin Waltemeyer, 29, of State Center, died Tuesday, July 22nd. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 25th, at the Riverside Cemetery Garden of Honor with military honors by the Harlan G. Pfantz American Legion Post #122 officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. The procession will leave the funeral home at 10:15 for the cemetery. Ph 641-844-1234. Born on August 16th, 1978, in Marshalltown, he was the son of Jerry and Patricia (Davis) Waltemeyer. He graduated from the West Marshall High School in 1997 and for nine years served our country honorably in the Iowa Army National Guard 234 th Signal Battalion Company C. At the time of his death, he was employed at Hemmen Moving Services in Boone as a diesel mechanic. Justin was a member of the American Legion in State Center and loved history especially war movies, music by REO Speedwagon and Styx, the outdoors doing hunting, fishing, gardening, 4-wheeling and snowmobiling, going to the drag races with his dad and brother and going to automotive swapmeets,and then coming inside to play Playstation with his children and playing with his dog, Buddy. Left to mourn his sudden loss are his wife, Mary (Harris), four children: Jessica Nicole (9), Grace Abigail (8), Jonathan Thomas (5), and Jacob Duane (4), his parents Jerry and Patricia of State Center and brother Jeremy of State Center as well as a host of friends. In death he has rejoined his grandparents.
