K. Roger Smith

Kenneth Roger Smith, 68, of Marshalltown, died Thursday morning, September 6th, at the Grandview Heights while under their care, his family and the Iowa River Hospice. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, September 13th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Shomo, chaplain of the Iowa River Hospice officiating. Ph 844-1234. Born on December 10th, 1938, in Conrad, Iowa, he was the son of Jesse and Laura (Godfrey) Smith. He graduated from the Marshalltown High School and attended the Marshalltown Community College. He was united in marriage to Linda Beasley and later divorced. Roger was employed at Dunham-Bush as a draftsman and enjoyed the Iowa Hawkeyes, fishing and golf. Left to cherish his memory is his son Scott Smith of Marshalltown, grandchildren: Abbie, Joey, Danny, Andy and Klowieann, and sister Dorothy Becker. In death he has rejoined his brother Howard Smith and his parents.
