Karen Simatovich, 67 of Nevada, formerly of Ferguson, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines surrounded by her family.Funeral services will be held at 1:30 on Monday, January 16, 2012 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Phone 641-844-1234.Karensue Marie Drew was born on June 1, 1944 in Newton, Iowa she was the daughter of Charles Wilford and Inez Nadine (Linder) Drew. Karen had attended school in the Newton School District graduating with the class of 1962. On January 30, 1965 she was united in marriage to Andrew Simatovich in Newton, Iowa. They later divorced. Karen had worked at Kmart in Marshalltown, she enjoyed cooking for her family and will be remembered for her deviled eggs, she liked to play bingo, but most of all she loved and cherished her kids and grandkids.Left to cherish Karens memory are her children; Kim (David) Pepe and Jami (Jason) Drew all of Gladbrook and son-in-law; Scott Weidler of Ames, grandchildren; Daltton Roberts, Ariel, Joseph and Emilee Pepe, Kenneth Weidler, Jaci, Lily and Garrett Drew and Karens brother; Mick Drew of Newton, Iowa and several cousins and dear friends Jean Teasdale, Melba Phillips, Jo Lee and Iona Simatovich.Karen was preceded in death by her parents; Charles and Inez, brother; Bob Drew, sister-in-law and dear friend Penny Drew her daughter; Susie Weidler and a grandchild; Tyson Drew.
