Karla Beth Bronzynski, 58, of Eldora, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2014, at the Iowa River Hospice Home with her loving family at her side. Memorial services for Karla will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at the Eldora United Methodist Church located in Eldora, Iowa. Public visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2014, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home where her family will be present to greet friends. Karla Beth Sneller was born on April 24, 1956, in Sioux Center, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Henrietta (Vande Kamp) Sneller and was raised and educated in the Sioux Center School System, graduating in 1974 as Salutatorian. Following high school, Karla went on to Northwestern College graduating in 1978 Magna Cum Laude in elementary education and natural sciences. Karla was united in marriage to Brian Bronzynski on August 26, 1977, at the First Reformed Church in Sioux Center, Iowa. From this union three children were born: Kella, Kaden and Kole. Karla dedicated her life to the elementary kids that she taught. It was more than a job for her, it was a passion. She worked as an elementary teacher from 1978 until 2014. She was blessed to teach so many wonderful elementary children in her classroom or gym in her 36 year career. In addition to the classroom, Karlas professional life, included: Iowa Reading Association, serving as Past President and Vice President, Treasurer, Zone-Coordinator, Executive Board Member; Hardy Reading Council and Three River Reading Council, serving as Past President and Vice President, Membership Coordinator; Iowa Reading Association Reading Teacher of the Year- 2014; Beta Theta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International; Instructor/ Presenter- Math Learning Center, Portland State University; First Grade Teacher for Eldora-New Providence Elementary from 2000 to present; Assistant Volleyball Coach for Eldora-New Providence High School, 2000-2004; Head Volleyball Coach Eldora-New Providence and South Hardin High School, 2005- 2014; USA Volleyball Jr. Olympic National Championships Qualifying Teams, 1999- 2014 (9 times), USA Volleyball; and Iowa Region Female Jr. Coach of the Year- 2002. Karla had a passion for reading--she loved being read to and reading to others. She also enjoyed teaching, volleyball, crafts, scrapbooking, coaching, decorating for holidays, especially Christmas. More than anything, Karla treasured her family. Left to cherish Karlas memory are her husband, Brian Bronzynski; children: Kella (Tyler) Minteer, Kaden Bronzynski and Kole Bronzynski; grandchildren: Harper Minteer and soon-to-be baby girl Minteer; her mother, Henrietta Sneller; three younger siblings: Darwin (Kathy) Sneller, Glen (Laura) Sneller and Kathy (Kit) Doornik. Karla is preceded in death by her father, Harold Sneller; grandfather, Gerrit Sneller; grandmother, Grace Sneller; maternal grandmother, Hattie Vande Kamp; and maternal grandfather, Gerrit Vande Kamp.
