Karroll W. Stalzer

Karroll W. Stalzer, 63, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at his home. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home chapel. Public visitation will be held one hour prior to services, where Karroll's family will be present to greet family and friends. Karroll was born May, 9, 1951 in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Urban E. and Marvel C. (Wolken) Stalzer. He was educated at St. Mary's Catholic grade school and graduated from Lenihan High School in 1970. After high school he worked in the construction business before having a career at Alliant Energy in the gas department, until his retirement. He had a passion for his family and friends. He was an avid hunter and fisherman with many trips to Canada and Minnesota to catch walleye and bass. He enjoyed all kinds of sporting activities with the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs and Dallas Cowboys being his favorite teams. Left to cherish his memory are his siblings: Harlan (Sue) Stalzer of Rapid City, S.D., Susan (Kent) Perrin of St. Louis, MO, Bradley (Michelle) Stalzer of Newton, IA and Lana (Sean) Meiborg of St. Louis, MO. He is survived by his nieces and nephews: Todd Stalzer, Chad Stalzer, Dr. Ann Perrin, Blake Perrin, Zachary Theis, Morgan Stalzer, Brock and Chase Meiborg.
