Katherine Mills

Katherine Mills, 78, of Marshalltown, died Sunday morning, December 16th, at the Grandview Heights, while under the care of Iowa River Hospice with her loving family at her side. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 22, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery. Born Katherine Janet Kelderman on October 26th, 1934, in Knoxville, Iowa, she was the daughter of Cornelius and Zella Pearl (Kingery) Kelderman. She received her education in the area of her birth. On June 1st, 1952, she was united in marriage to Robert E. Mills in Barnes City, Iowa. They made their home at Lamoille, Albion and Marshalltown since 1978. Mrs. Mills was a member of the 1st Baptist Church and the Christian Motorcycle Association. She also graciously volunteered her time at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Katherine enjoyed motorcycles, camping, Bible studies but most of all time with her family. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Kathy (Paul) Scheffert of Union Grove Lake, Edward (Karen) Mills of Marshalltown and Lora (Rick) Bachman of Union, 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, her siblings Leona (Clare) Carlson of Marshalltown, Corwin Kelderman of Marshalltown and Delbert Kelderman in Texas and sister-in-law, Janet Kelderman. In death, she rejoined her parents, husband, son Mike and brother Robert Kelderman.
