Kathleen Jane Paul, 82, of Haverhill, Iowa, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2013, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown.Visitation will be held on Monday, April 8, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 9, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Laurel United Methodist Church in Laurel, Iowa. Memorials may be directed towards the Iowa River Hospice Home, Laurel United Methodist Church or the Laurel Library. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Kathleen and her family. Phone 641-844-1234.Kathleen Johnston was born on July 28, 1930 in Baxter, Iowa to John and Neva Mae Crabb Johnston. She attended Laurel High School and graduated in 1948. On September 11, 1948, Kathleen married Donald A Paul in Baxter and to this union two daughters and a son were born: Mary Julie and Steve. Kathleen worked at Peoples Savings Bank from 1948 until 1951 and later worked at the Laurel Elementary School for eighteen years as the secretary. Kathleen was a member of the Laurel United Methodist Church, U.M.W., Central Iowa Genealogical Society and Marshall County Historical Society. Kathleens interests included reading, genealogy and travel but most especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She truly cherished her family.Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 64 years, Donald; daughters: Mary (Tim) Jones and Julie (Max) Smith; grandchildren: Eric Howard (Jessie), Allison Frost (Sean) Sara Dib (Joud) and Jason Jones; great grandchildren: Jacob, Logan, Talon, Taylor, Saige, Emma, Grace, Presley and Sophia and many nieces and nephews. Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents; son Steven M Paul; Brothers: Donnell, Bob and Johnny and a sister Arlene Butler.
