Kathryn Catherwood

Kathryn Catherwood, 67, of Eldora, died Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at Valley View Nursing Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Union Community Church. Burial will be in Hauser Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Union Community Church. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Kathryn and her family, phone 641-844-1234. Kathryn Elizabeth McStockard was born on August 9, 1941, in Eldora, Iowa. She was the daughter of Harold McStockard Sr. and Luella Faye McStockard. She lived in the central Iowa area for most of her life, and she attended school in Eldora. Kathryn worked at The Green Door as a cook, and then she worked at Dodger Manufacturing for many years before finding her true calling in the medical field. Kathryn was a loving and caring person who touched so many lives, as she worked as a dietary aide, CNA, and also as a medication aide. She worked at Valley View Nursing Home for many years, and then worked at Grandview Heights. She then worked at the Marshall County Care Facility until retirement. Kathryn was a bargain-hunter and loved garage sales and auctions. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and her family was most important. On April 14, 1981, Kathryn married Donald Catherwood in Eldora. Kathryn left behind a very loving and devoted husband, Donald; their children, Debra Bell of Eldora, William(Jennifer) Talbott of Eldora, Donald Jr. of Union, Kristine(Dwight) Blomgren of Eldora, Tracy(Sally) Catherwood of Tama, Allan(Robin Mourlam) Kinney Jr. of Union, and Kimberly(Nick Wanken) Catherwood of Union; her sister Barbara Meiers and her family; her brother-in-law Vern Harris and his family; her many wonderful grandchildren, James(Lita) Bell, Kathryn(Richard Wilson), Donte, Sparkle(Michael Kokichi), Shawna(Don) Vokoun, Cody Stanley, Shyanne(Chris) Jones, Skyler(Marissa Hanson) Stocks, Coltin Kinney, Aaron Catherwood, Andrew Catherwood, Kandice Kinney, Ashley Kinney, Brock Kinney, Xavier Collins, Shanon Collins, Caitlin Egleston, Lane Stanley, and Imagin Wanken; her wonderful great-grandchildren, Simon, Joshua, Zoe, Darius, Dezel, Brillian, Ashlyn, Tiana, Keegan, Paiden, Kylin, Brayden, Kaiya, Takota, Damien, and Hayden; and many brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews that she loved very much. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, and her grandson Kenneth McDane Bell.
