Kay Chaumont, 68, of Omaha, Nebraska passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017, at the University of Nebraska in Omaha, Nebraska, surrounded by her wonderful loving family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2017, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date. Kay Louise Weaver was born on September 30, 1948, in Rhodes, Iowa; she was the daughter of Vern Jacob and Iva Lavonne (Hoy) Weaver. She attended school in the Marshalltown Community School District and then went to Marshalltown Community College and received her degree in nursing and went on to receive her RN and BSN. Kay was united in marriage to Marvin Detrick and they were blessed with a son, Michael Shawn and later divorced. She then married Jerrold Osborn and they were blessed with two sons, Jerry Wayne and Matthew Scott and he also adopted Michael Shawn. They later divorced and she married Jim Chaumont. She had worked in Marshalltown, Louisiana, Arkansas and Omaha as a nurse, working in Orthopedics, Pediatrics (as she loved the little people), as a surgery nurse and as a Life Flight Nurse. Kay loved to go to thrift stores, not necessarily to buy but to look. She also enjoyed crocheting and sewing, loved to bake and share, always had a special love for animals and had a big heart for all children. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Michael Shawn (Carrie) Osborn of Marshalltown, Iowa and Matthew Scott Osborn of Omaha, Nebraska; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and one on the way; siblings, John (Vicki) Weaver of Albion, Jim Weaver of Eldora, Bonnie Moody of Troy, Missouri, Patricia Murphy of Biloxi, Mississippi, and her extended Native family in Vermillion, South Dakota and Maple Landing, Iowa. In death Kay rejoins her parents, Vern and Iva Weaver; son Jerry Osborn and brother Bob Weaver.
