Kay Patricia Couts

Kay Patricia Couts, 64, of Laurel, passed away at her home on Monday, August 17, 2026.

Memorial services for Kay will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Marshalltown. Kay Patricia Keith was born on May 13, 1962 in Grundy Center, Iowa. She was the daughter of D. Bernard “Bing” and Harriet Lou (Schultz) Keith. Kay graduated from SEMCO High School in 1980. She would later obtain her LPN license, and also attended William Penn College for a four year accounting degree. Kay worked in accounting services for various places in her career. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed sewing, crafts and her cats.

Kay is survived by her siblings: Mary (Earl) Dennis of Richmond, Virginia and Steven Keith of Gilman. She is also survived by eight nieces and nephews along with eighteen great-nieces and nephews. Kay is preceded in death by her parents and two great nephews.
