Keghun Elijah Borton

Keghun Elijah Borton, age 17, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, after a tragic motor vehicle accident.

Per the family’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A Celebration of Keghun’s Life will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Celebration Church, 745 April Street, Waterloo, IA, 50701.

Keghun was born on November 3, 2006, in Iowa City, the son of Kandice Peak. He was adopted by Kathy (Borton) and Allan Leonard. Keghun attended West Marshall Community School District.

Keghun loved anything with wheels – minibikes, go-karts, etc. He also had a soft spot for animals, especially his two cats, Autumn and Callie. Keghun attended Celebration Church, he was involved in youth group and volunteering with the community. He recently stepped out of his comfort zone, praying with people on the street.

He is survived by his parents, Kat and Al; siblings, Daniel (Kelsy) Leonard, Amanda Leonard – Hellum, Cynthia Gamez, Annalea Gamez, Jose Gamez, Ximena Lopez and Arthur Jonathan “AJ” Leonard – Hellum; Great – Granny and Papa Peak in Texas; along with several nieces and nephews.
