Keith Johnson, 65, of Garwin, Iowa, died November 6, 2012, at his home surrounded by his loving family, while under the care of Iowa River Hospice and friends. A public gathering will be held from 5:30 p.m. 8:00 p.m., on Tuesday November 13, 2012, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home, where his family will be present to greet friends. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Keith and his family.Keith was born June 10, 1947 in North Dakota, son of Howard and Vivian (Ulland) Johnson. He attended school in Mayville, North Dakota. Keith honorably served our country in the United States Army. Keith was united in marriage to Susan Corwin on January 2, 1970 in Nevada, Iowa. Keith was a life-long farmer as well as a carpenter. He loved farming, gardening as well as sharing his veggies with his family and friends, hunting, fishing on his own pond, where he would also feed his friend Uncle Ray the turtle. Keith was a handyman and enjoyed remodeling their house any chance he could. Keiths dog Foxy and him would ride their ATV every day to get the mail together. He also enjoyed his friends coming over to spend Sundays with him in the garage.He is survived by his loving wife, Susan; children: Megan (Josh) from Oregon and Angie (Kirby) Ree from North Dakota; grandchildren: Quintin LaVille, Josh Ree, Jarrod Ree; one sister, Betty Paulesic from Texas; many nieces and nephews as well as many friends.He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Vivian Johnson, son, Tad and daughter Karen Sue.
