Keith Noack

Keith Noack, 87, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away surrounded by his loving family on the afternoon of Thursday, July 6, 2023 at the Iowa River Hospice Home.


Memorial services for Keith will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at the First Methodist Church, 202 W. Main St., in Marshalltown beginning at 11:30 a.m. with a visitation being held from 10:00-11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation. Keith Earl Noack was born October 16, 1935 to parents Alfred and Blanche (Geissinger) Noack in Perry, Iowa. He was the youngest of seven children. Keith grew up in the communities surrounding Perry. He graduated from Perry High School as part of the class of 1954.


On April 29, 1956, Keith was united in marriage to the love of his life JoAnn Crannell at the First Christian Church in Perry, Iowa. Together they started their lives in Perry and overtime lived in Ogden, Oelwein, Maquoketa, Decorah, Humboldt and finally called Marshalltown home starting in 1984. He and JoAnn together raised their four children Mark, David, Dan, and Melanie. He worked for Fareway Grocery Stores in their meat department always showing off a smiling face and getting everyone the freshest cuts of meat in town. He worked for Fareway 38 years and got to spend 27 years of retirement with his wife and family.


In his free time, Keith was active within the First Methodist Church in Marshalltown, the Marshalltown Lions Club, and the Masonic Lodge. He loved his family first before everything but also enjoyed spending time outdoors, bowling, fishing, hunting, going golfing, mushroom hunting with his daughter, and playing pinochle.


Left to remember and cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years, JoAnn Noack; his children, Mark (Jody) Noack, and their children; Nicole Noack, Danielle (Tanner) Illingworth, and Michelle (Ben) Branderhorst; and great-grandchildren Ethan and Evelyn Illingworth, Lilly and William Branderhorst, David (Lynn) Noack and their children, Jamie (Joe) Poch and Jared Noack; and great-grandchildren, Jackson, Benjamin, and Matthew Poch, Dan (Joni) Noack and their children, Bekah (Lucas) Rowe and Bethany Duffy, and Melanie (Randy) Ewalt and their children, Ashley (Nick) Meyer and Austin Ewalt; and great-grandchildren Wade and Jo Anna Meyer; alongside numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.


He is preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Blanche Noack; his great-grandson Dominick Meyer; his siblings, Harold, Gladys, Dale, Fern, Dorothy, and Irene; his mother and father in-law, Anna and Harold Crannell; and his brothers and sisters in-law, Don, Helen, and Doris.
