Keith J. Rowley

Keith J. Rowley, 77, of the Iowa Veterans Home, formerly of Kanawha, Iowa, died early Sunday morning, June 15th, at the VA Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 18th, at the United Methodist Church in Kanawha with Pastor Paddy Druhl officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Amsterdam Township Cemetery at Kanawha. Friends may call at the church from 10:30 a.m. until service time. A memorial fund is being established. Born on November 10th, 1930, in Kanawha, Iowa, he was the son of Elmer and Rose (Rasmussen) Rowley. He received his education in the area of his birth and served our country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. Keith resided at Kanawha where he farmed and worked at the Kanawha Co-Op Elevator. He was a member of the VFW in Kanawha and Marshalltown. Left to cherish his memory are his brothers Forest Rowley of Layton, Utah, Edward Rowley of Middleton, Wisconsin, sister Viola Shahan of Las Vegas, Nevada, four sisters-in-law: Deloris, Laree, Neva and Cathy Rowley, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, his Iowa Veterans Home family and friends. In death he has rejoined his parents Elmer and Rose and brothers Arald and Lewis. The Rowley family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the many caregivers and staff at the Iowa Veterans Home and to the VA Medical Centers in Knoxville and Des Moines.
