Kellen Nail

Kellen J. Nail, age 39 of Boise, Idaho and formerly of Marshalltown, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 3, 2025 in Las Vegas, NV.

Kellen was born on May 6, 1985 in Iowa City, the son of Troy Nail and Julie Winters. He graduated from Excel High School and attended ITT Technical Institute.

Kellen was an excellent mechanic and loved BMWs in particular. He enjoyed fishing and recently discovered photography in the last several years, some of his photos are available you.pic. Kellen completed his lifelong dream of traveling Route 66, ending in California. Kellen’s most treasured time was spent with his son, Easton.

Kellen was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jerry Winters; and his beloved dog, Sativa Jane. Left to cherish his memory are: his mother, Julie Winters of Marshalltown; his son, Easton Nail of Ames; his sister, Jennifer Nail of Marshalltown; and his grandmother, Ardis Winters of Marshalltown. He is also survived by his nephews; numerous cousins; and his good friends in Idaho.

Per Kellen’s wishes, cremation rites have taken place. A Family-Led Celebration of Kellen's Life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 1:00 until 4:00 P.M. at the Cabin at Riverview Park. At a later date, Kellen will be laid to rest in Timber Creek Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Kellen’s Family.
