Kendall Anne Derby, age 59 of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away peacefully on November 30, 2023.
As per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 6:00 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation with the family receiving friends will be from 5:00 P.M – 6:00 P.M. Saturday, Dec. 9th, also at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation. Kendall was born on October 23rd, 1964. She was the daughter of Richard and Judith (Rhodes) Endicott. At various times throughout her life she lived in Marshalltown, Storm Lake, Colo, and Omaha, Nebraska. She was most recently employed as a telemarketer at TLC, and prior to that had worked at other telemarketing firms, several convenience stores, and for years ran a daycare out of her home. Kendall was an avid reader with a large collection of books and a particular admiration for the works of JRR Tolkien, which she was highly knowledgeable of. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and was endeavored in compiling many of her family's recipes — and she was a dedicated, long-time player of the online game “Mouse Hunt”, actively engaged in the online community around it.
Kendall is survived by her children — Emily Brown of Albuquerque (New Mexico), Evan McFarland of Grinnell, Paige McFarland of Laurens, Kaleena Derby of Des Moines, and Seth Derby of Ames — and by her grandchildren — Issac Brown, August Brown, Lucas Levis, Owen Levis, Izaiah Derby and Camila Cortez.
She is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, her parents Richard and Judith, granddaughter Maddison Levis, and cousin Thane “Todd” Rhodes.
