Kenneth Callen

Kenneth E. Callen passed on September 29th, 2018, at Marshalltown Hospice after suffering a stroke on September 23rd.  Ken was born October 23rd, 1949, in Marshalltown, the only child of Clyde and Hellen Callen. He graduated from MHS Class of 1967. Ken was a bowler, part of the original Crew Lane Kids. Ken attended MCC and was drafted into the Army and served a year of that time in Vietnam. Ken worked at Lennox and retired after 30 years. Ken married Joanne Hunt in 1978 and they spent many years travelling the globe until her passing in 2016. Ken truly died of a broken heart and will rejoice in his reunion with Mom.     Survived by his 3 step-children are: Debra (John) Oetker, James (Candy) Hunt Jr., Rodney (Val) Hunt; 6 step-grandkids, 7 step-great grandkids and a host of extended family members. A private family grave side service is planned at a later date. Mitchell Family Funeral home is caring for Ken and the family.
