Kenneth Mansager, 83, of Albion, died Tuesday, July 3rd, at the Iowa Veterans Home where he has resided since January of this year. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 7th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in the Marietta Cemetery with full military honors by the VFW Harry C. Harter Post #839. Friends may all at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday. Born on February 7th, 1924, at Montour, Iowa, he was the son of Henry and Jennie (Swenson) Mansager. He attended school at the Moniger Elementary School and later the Albion High School. He served our country proudly in the United States Army in WWII. He was stationed in the Philippines. Kenneth met Rajean Duckett while she was attending beauty school in Marshalltown. The two were united in marriage on March 7th, 1954 in Adel, Iowa. They made their home on a farm west of Albion where he raised livestock and also sold seed corn for a number of years and farmed. They were members of the Minerva United Methodist Church and he was a member of the American Legion, Legion of Guardsmen, VFW and the Moose Lodge. Kenneth was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching Wheel of Fortune and truly enjoyed farming. Left to celebrate his life are his loving wife of 53 years, Rajean, four children: Greg of Albion, Doug (Cynthia) of Melbourne, Diane (Todd) Whitmore of Marshalltown, and Brian of Haverhill, five grandchildren: Nick and Whitney Stonewall, Colin Mansager and Caitlin and Tanner Mansager, and a great granddaughter Jocee as well as his only sister, Maxine McClure of Marshalltown. Preceding him in death were his parents.
