Kenneth Leroy Maulsby

Kenneth LeRoy Maulsby, 79, of Montour died Tuesday, September 16th, 2008, at his home. A celebration of Kenneths (Grandpa Chicken) life will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 20th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. There will be no visitation. Born December 21st, 1928, in Crystal Lake, Ill, Kenneth was the son of Adna Dale and Alice (Glasscock) Maulsby. Adna Dale passed away, and Alice later married Earl Gallentine, whom Kenneth considered his father as well. Kenneth was raised and educated in Crystal Lake. On November 9th, 1951, Kenneth was united in marriage to Donna Mae Carr. The couple made their home in Marshalltown. They later moved to LeGrand, and more recently, they lived in Montour. During his life, Kenneth worked at Heartland Dairy, American Machine, ACI, owned the LeGrand Motel from 1976-1980, and owned and operated LeGrand Heating and Air Conditioning. Kenneth loved working in the garden, and renovating houses. Left to cherish Kenneths memory is Donna, his beloved wife and best friend of 57 years; his daughter Tracy (Gary) Catron of Gilman; son Kenneth LeRoy Maulsby Jr. of Montezuma; grandchildren Megan (Moises) Juarez of Gilman, Donnie (Natalie) Baker of Edenberg, Scotland, Zachary Klingbeil of Marcus, Lindsay (Felicia) Catron of Cedar Rapids, Ryan (Tiffany Clingerman) Catron of Marshalltown, Kendra, Sydney and Cody Maulsby; several great-grandchildren; son-in-law David Klingbeil of Marcus; son John (Pam) Fleming of Gladbrook; 4 sisters; 1 brother; and many friends. In death, Kenneth has rejoined his parents, daughter Lori Maulsby-Klingbeil, 2 sisters and 1 brother.
