Kenneth E. “Kenny” Perry, 94, of Marshalltown, passed away at his home Saturday, December 19, 2020. To honor his wishes, cremation rights will be given and a private family memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 23rd at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Private family interment will be held at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be directed to his family. Kenneth Eugene Perry was born on June 3, 1926 in rural McClelland, IA, the son of Dorus and Eva (Birchard) Perry. He grew up in Council Bluffs and attended school at the Abraham Lincoln High School. On December 29, 1943, he was united in marriage to Ella Jane “Ebbie” Park in Papillion, NE. Kenny honorably served our country in the Army Airborne 101st Screaming Eagles from 1944 to 1946. Upon his return from the war, the couple made their home in Council Bluffs before moving to Marshalltown in 1961. Kenny had been employed at Butterworth Tire in Des Moines, General Tire and later retired from Montgomery Ward. He was a member of the American Legion. In addition to dearly loving and spending time with his family, Kenny enjoyed bowling, fishing, gardening and model airplanes. Those left to cherish his memory are his children: Jane (Hugh) Dougall, Michael (Talona) Perry and Paula (Dayle) Aune; his grandchildren: Lisa (Che) Hanson, Steve (Jen) Dougall, Amy (Mark) Christensen, Brian (Lisa Marie) Dougall, Kimberly (Bill) Young, Carrie Hogan, Jason Perry, Nicholas (Nicole) Aune, Michael Perry, and Danielle Chips; 24 great grandchildren and 8 great, great grandchildren. In eternal life, Kenny has been reunited with his parents; wife, “Ebbie”; son, Roger Perry and daughter-in-law, Rene; granddaughter, Kailyn Perry; great grandson, Nathan Pille; and sisters, Alice Collier and Dorothy McKern.
