Kenneth “Ken” Picard, 83, of Marshalltown, and formerly of Frenchville, Pennsylvania, passed away on the evening of January 1, 2021, at The Willows of Marshalltown under the care of Iowa River Hospice. A public visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorials in Ken’s name may be directed to Iowa River Hospice. Kenneth Alfred Picard was born May 3, 1937 to parents, Alfred and Leona (Jury) Picard in Phillipsburg, PA. He was the oldest of two children. He attended school in Clearfield and lived in Frenchville. In 1959, he was united in marriage to his wife Gerri Roussey. The two began a family and raised their daughter Deb together. Ken, Gerri, and Deb moved to Marshalltown, Iowa in 1960. He worked for 30 plus years at Fisher Controls. In his free time, Ken loved to go on boating trips up the Mississippi River with his wife on their Sea Ray RICO. He enjoyed many camping trips, was always tinkering on something around the house, their trips to Florida in the winter and trips to Las Vegas. He was a member of the Fisher 25-year club, the Marshalltown Snowmobile Club, various leagues at the Totem Bowl and attended St. Francis of Assisi Parish: St. Mary Church. Left to remember and cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Gerri Picard; his daughter Deb Mull; and his grandson Rick Mull Jr. and his fiancé Aren. He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Leona Picard; his son-in-law Rick Mull Sr.; his granddaughter, Echo Mull; and his brother, Dean (Mary) Picard.
