Kenny Doser, 61, of St. Anthony, died Wednesday, January 4, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.Visitation for Kenny will be held from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m., Saturday, January 7, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home West Marshall Chapel in State Center. Funeral services for Kenny will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, January 8, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home West Marshall Chapel in State Center. Burial will take place at the Clemons Cemetery. Kenny was born March 16, 1950, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Louis Paul and Helen Louise (Thompson) Doser. He was raised on the family dairy farm just outside of St. Anthony and graduated from West Marshall High School in 1968. Following high school Kenny received a scholarship and attended Iowa State University where he studied Electrical Engineering for two years. Kennys love for the land showed throughout his career in the family farming operation. During his years of farming Kenny also worked many, many years at the Clemons Grain and Supply Company. On June 11, 1980, he was united in marriage to Jan Hunter on his grandpas farm near St. Anthony. Kenny and Jan remained on their family farm where they raised their family and worked very hard throughout his lifetime. Kenny was active in his childrens lives by being a coach for them on the Clemons baseball team. He was a longtime volunteer firefighter for the Clemons Fire Department having served as Fire Chief during his many years of service. Kenny was also a member of the Clemons and St. Anthony First Responders. Kenny is survived by his wife Jan of St. Anthony, his children: Michael Hunter of Farmington, Minnesota, Casey (Bailey Paulsen) Doser of Ankeny, Megan (Benjamin) York of St. Anthony and Matthew Doser of Ankeny, his grandson Bennett York, his siblings: Jim (Kay) Doser of State Center, Ray (Sheila) Doser of New Providence, Betty (Jeff) Damman of Melbourne, Marge (Randy) Haley of Colo, Jean (Ron) Shipley of Clemons, Teresa (John) Chance-Haggerty of Houston, Texas, Mary Doser of Kentucky and Carol (John) Gogerty of Deep Haven, Minnesota, his mother-in-law Henrietta Hunter of St. Anthony, his brother-in-law Ken (Carol) Hunter of Havelock, North Carolina, his sister-in-law Carole (Rodger) McKinney of Wiota, Iowa, his brother-in-law Steve (Diane) Hunter of Marshalltown, his aunts and uncles and several nieces, nephews, cousins and his great nieces and nephews. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Helen, his paternal grandparents Theodore and Emma Doser and his maternal grandparents Leroy and Esther Thompson.
