Kevin Ernest Buresh

Kevin Ernest Buresh “Birddog”, age 66, of Toledo, Iowa passed away unexpectedly at his home on September 3, 2024.

A funeral service for Kevin is scheduled for Monday, September 9, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation one hour prior to the service. He will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Mitchell Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Kevin and his family. Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation. Kevin was born January 25, 1958, in Marshalltown, Iowa. He is the son of Ernest and Janice Clara (Willson) Buresh. Kevin attended South Tama High School where he graduated in 1976. He enlisted in the United States Air Force from 1976 to 1980. Kevin was employed by the casino for 25 years as a machine tech. He then worked for Darling Ingredients Company for the past 5 years in Tama. While growing up, Kevin enjoyed fishing and many camping trips. Kevin also played slow pitch softball for many years. He enjoyed bowling and participating in pool tournaments. In his free time, you could find him riding his motorcycle or hanging out with his friends at the Town Pump. Kevin attended his grandkids sporting events.

Kevin is survived by his two daughters: Shantel Pugh from Carthage, Missouri and Allison (Dan) Buresh from Gladbrook, Iowa; also, seven grandchildren: Jacob, Bryce and Mason Pugh, Logan West, Brooklyn Harned, Kynlee and Brooklyn Heise, and three great grandkids, his two sisters: Janet (Tom) Vest of Tama, Iowa and Kathy (the late Gerald) Timm and his dad Ernie Buresh of Tama, Iowa.

Kevin also had 3 fur children: Ozy, Emmy and Sophie that he spent a lot of time walking or taking for rides.

Kevin is preceded in death by his mother Janice Clara Buresh.
