Kevin Hill, 47, died in a motorcycle accident on Saturday, October 24, 2009, near Orlando, Florida.Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 6, 2009, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Phone 641-844-1234 .Kevin Ray Hill was born February 1, 1962, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to Darlene (Kaufmann) Shuey and James Hill. He lived his younger days in the area around Conrad, graduating from Beaman, Conrad, Liscomb High School in 1980. He married Christine (Zink) Hill on August 2, 1980. Kevin and Christy lived in Marshalltown, Iowa, until 1986 when they moved to Orlando, Florida. Kevin and Christy have two sons together. They traveled back to Iowa as often as they could to see family in the Conrad and Marshalltown area. Kevin is survived by his ex-wife and friend Christy Hill, sons Brian Hill and Nick Hill, and granddaughter Mikayla Hill, all of Orlando, FL. He is also survived by his mother and step-father Darlene (Eugene) Shuey of Conrad, Iowa and his father James (Joan) Hill of Arizona; his brothers Rick (La Rae) Hill of Iowa City, IA and Jim (Deb) Hill of Siloam Springs, AR; his sisters Deb (Curt) Mackie of Grundy Center, IA and Tammi (Mitch) Woosley of Marshalltown, IA; his 13 nieces and nephews, and a great niece and great nephew. All of Kevins high school friends and his friends in Orlando will miss him very much. He was a loyal friend to many. Everyone of his nieces and nephews could tell you stories of their time with Uncle Kevin. He was one in a million to them and they all thought he was very special. When Kevin and his family got together there were always stories from long ago and stories from the more recent years when he moved briefly back to Iowa to try and tough out the Iowa cold! He never could get used to it again and ended up back in his home in Orlando with his family and many friends. Kevin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Helen Kaufmann of Conrad, IA, and Irwin and Helen Hill of Gladbrook, IA, aunt and uncle, Dort and Don Erickson of Conrad, and his dog, Renegade. Kevin could light up a room like no one else. He had a presence about him that made you want to talk to him. He enjoyed life to the fullest. He was an avid Harley rider and he lived to ride.
