Kim E. Doran "Needs"

Kim E. Doran, 62, of Toledo, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2020 in the comfort of her home.  As of noon, Tuesday, March 17th, Governor Reynolds has MANDATED that all events in the state of over 10 persons be cancelled for the corona virus concerns. If you are reading this attached to an obituary, that event has been cancelled and will be rescheduled following March 31st- two weeks from today. May our prayers be lifted up during this time of national concern. God bless you all!  Kim Ellen Lada was born August 17, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri to Goldie E. Lada and her biological father. Kim is the youngest of three children and was raised by Goldie E. Geary & Joseph B. Geary. Kim married and had 3 children while living in St. Louis; Joseph, Delania and Robert. She moved to Iowa in 1981 and worked as a dietary aid; creating healthy and delicious menus for assisted living care. Kim met Jeff Needs in 1982 and they’ve been inseparable since. Miranda (Mevn) was born to Kim and Jeff. Kim took pride in the food service world, schmoozing all the customers and feeding the hungry at The King Tower Cafe. Kim enjoyed raising her children and spoiling her grandchildren. She was an amazing cook and loved to garden and craft. Kim was passionate in taking care of others, giving back to the earth and was an animal lover at heart. She loved fishing and camping with the family and spending time with her partner in crime of 38 years. Left to honor and cherish Kim’s legacy is her beloved Jeff Needs; her loving children: Joe McRoberts (Diana), Delania Halter (Bryan Wacha), Robert Doran (Lucinda), Miranda Needs (Andrew Bahl), and Rhonda Clappsaddle (daughter to Jeff); her brother James Lada (Marilyn), Roxanne Lada (like a daughter), Magen Lada (daughter Raegan), Eric Lada (son Jamison), the Geraldine Mohrle Family, dear friends; and Kim’s 17 beautiful grandchildren. Preceded in death are Kim’s parents, Goldie and Joseph Geary, and her brother Robert Lada.
