Born Kimberly Kay Kieler on June 29, 1957, in Des Moines, Iowa, she was the eldest of three children born to Thomas and Darlene (Hamm) Kieler. She spent her early years in Des Moines before moving to Marshalltown, where she attended school and graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1975. She later continued her education at Marshalltown Community College.

On February 28, 1981, Kim was united in marriage to the love of her life, David Lampman, at Marshalltown Friends Church. Together they built a beautiful life rooted in faith, love, and devotion, raising their five children: Abbie, Jessica, Seth, Ben, and Ethan. Kim worked as a bookkeeper at Walmart for many years before retiring in 2005 due to health concerns.

Kim was known for her selfless heart and unwavering faith. She always put the needs of others before her own, even while facing pain and illness. Through every season, she carried herself with quiet strength, resilience, and a gentle spirit that reflected Christ’s love. She trusted deeply in God’s plan and found peace in knowing she was never alone.

Kim and David were faithful members of Marshalltown Friends Church, and they spent much of their early adult years committed to youth ministry. In her free time, Kim enjoyed reading, spending time with her beloved family, singing and listening to music, and photography. She also had a tender heart for animals and cherished the many family dogs who brought her comfort and joy through the years.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 44 years, David Lampman; her children, Abbie (Casey) Lampman, Jessica (Jason) Dobyns, Seth (Emily) Lampman, Ben (Natalie) Lampman, and Ethan (Emilia) Lampman; her grandchildren, Broklynn, Amayah, Elliot, Olivia, Sofia, and Anna; her sister-in-law, Donna (Mike) Lampman Rucinski; brother-in-law, Arnold Klaas; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Darlene Kieler; her grandson, Zachary; her two brothers and two sisters-in-law; and her parents-in-law, Robert and Faye Lampman.

Kim’s family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace, restored, and rejoicing in Heaven — forever held in the loving arms of her Savior.
