Kittie L. Curley

Kittie L. Curley, 78. a lifelong resident of Marshalltown, passed away Friday, November 6, 2020, at Mercy One Medical Center in Des Moines. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 10th at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with burial following in the Riverside Cemetery. Kittie Lea was born August 30, 1942 in Marshalltown, the daughter of Joe and Lavita (Fisher) Akers. She was a graduate of the Marshalltown High School. On March 8, 1960, she was united in marriage to William J. Curley of Marshalltown. The couple made Marshalltown their home all of their lives where Kittie was employed at Stone’s Restaurant and later at the Iowa Veterans Home in the housekeeping department. She enjoyed playing in her band, “Kittie and the Country Cats” during the 1970’s and 80’s; and, she loved to go fishing with her husband. Most of all, she especially loved spending time with her family. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Talona Perry, William Dale Curley and Robin Eugene Curley; her grandchildren: Felicia Curley, Mike Perry and Derek Curley; her great grandson, Joshua “Buddy” Perry; her sisters-in-law: Sherry Horton and Cindy (Jim) Cruzan; her brother-in-law, Terry Wright as well as many friends.In eternal life, Kittie is reunited with her parents, her husband, her grandparents, her granddaughter Nicole Kluck, her brother, Dale Leroy Akers and her brother-in-law, Larry Curley.
