Kristine DeVolder, 54, of Marshalltown passed away on Monday February 13, 2012 at home under the care of Iowa River Hospice and her family.A funeral Mass will be held at10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 17, 2012 at St. Henrys Catholic Church in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, with a 7:00 p.m. vigil at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Phone 641-844-1234.Kristine Cheryl Dostal was born on December 18, 1957, in Cedar Falls, Iowa; she was the daughter of Mel and Rosalie (Chrudimsky) Dostal. Kris attended Marshalltown Community Schools graduating with the class of 1976, and then attended Iowa State University graduating with a degree in Home Economics in 1980. On April 25, 1981 Kris was united in marriage to Rick DeVolder at St Henrys Catholic Church in Marshalltown, Iowa. Kris and Rick had lived in Marshalltown their entire married life. Kris had been a member of St Henrys Catholic Church, Bell Choir and her card club. She had been employed at McFarland Clinic for the past 16 years. Kris loved the outdoors and enjoyed her walks and gardening, she was a great seamstress and loved to craft, but the most important thing in Kriss life was her family, most of all was her grandchildren which she loved to be involved with.Left to cherish Kriss life is her husband of 30 years Rick, her children: Beth (Wade Judge) DeVolder of Marshalltown, Ross (Jodi) DeVolder of Champaign, Illinois, her grandchildren Aidan and Finley, Kriss father, Mel Dostal of Marshalltown, Iowa, Kriss siblings: Susan (Don) Sears of Clive, Sandy (Rich) Nauman of Des Moines and Brian (Suzette) Dostal of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.Kris was preceded in death by her mother Rosalie in 2009.
