Kurt Allen Anderson, 53, of Des Moines, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Unity Point-Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines surrounded by his family. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Kurt and his family. Kurt was born on August 15th, 1968 at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. He graduated from East High School in 1986. Kurt was a diehard Minnesota Vikings and Dale Earnhardt fan. He also liked Iowa State. Kurt enjoyed drag racing, fishing, watching TV and eating Reece’s PB cups, Lucky Charms and chocolate milk. However his most favorite thing to do was spend time with his grandson. Kurt had a great sense of humor and could always make you laugh. He was a true one of a kind and “jack-of-all-trades”. Kurt was survived by his children: Miranda Hodges and Jacob; grandson, Leo; brother, Matthew (Darci) Clark and numerous friends and family. Kurt is preceded in death by his birth mother, Susan Clark; Mom and Dad, Leo and Jackie Anderson and great grandmother, Mertle “Nana” Bradley.
