Ladonna "Kay" Doser

LaDonna “Kay” Doser, 73, of Marshalltown, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.

Memorial services for Kay will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. The family requests that everyone dress casual. Memorials may be directed to the family in Kay’s name. LaDonna “Kay” Weikert was born on May 4, 1951 in Waterloo, Iowa. She was the daughter of Leo Edward and Donna Mae (Bebee) Weikert. Kay graduated from North High School in Des Moines in 1969. On July 30, 1976, Kay was united in marriage to James “Jim” Doser in Melbourne.

Kay enjoyed cooking, decorating, dancing and listening to country music. She also was an avid bingo, cribbage and card player, and loved to relax in her rocking chair. She always made sure she had her hair, makeup, nails and even eyebrows done before she would leave the house. Kay loved the farm life and always opened her home to anyone and everyone. You never left hungry or without a hug! Above all else, Kay enjoyed spending time with, and watching her children and grandchildren grow.

Kay is survived by her children: Katie Doser of Keokuk, Ron (Meagan) Doser of Melbourne, Kelly Harding of Melbourne, Gary Harding (Carrie Stroud) of Baxter, Kevin (Ashleigh) Doser of Clemons and Niki (Steven) Ayers of Rhodes. Grandchildren: Micaela Selck, Matthew Selck, AvaLynne Harding, MaryElla Harding, Jonathan Harding, Joseph Harding, Abigail Harding, Ruth (Connor) Mullen, Serina Doser, Brody Doser, Taylor Doser, Rylee Doser, Avery Doser and Zachary Doser. Kay is also survived by her great-grandson: Silas Price and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Kay is preceded in death by her husband: Jim; parents: Leo and Donna; brother: Brad Weikert; and her favorite in-law’s: Kenny and Jan.
