Larry D. Anderson Sr., 72, of Marshalltown, died Thursday, March 18, 2010, at Mary Greeley Medical Center.Memorialservices will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 22, 2010, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, 507 East Olive Street in Marshalltown. He was the son of William C. and Ruby Rose (Phipps) Anderson. He graduated from Boone High School in 1955. He attended one year of community college. He served in the Iowa Army National Guard from 1957-1962. Larry lived in Boone prior to moving to Marshalltown in 1961. On August 13, 1969, Larry married Donna Prescott in Omaha, Nebraska.Larry worked at Strands Bakery for 14 years, Chuck Smith Distributing, and owned the Rose Garden Coffee Shop on Main Street with Donna. For the last 12 years, Larry had worked as an independent contractor in display marketing. He enjoyed camping and fishing in his younger years. He loved golfing and enjoyed two trips yearly with friends to Osage Beach, Missouri. He enjoyed watching the Iowa-Iowa State game on TV at his brothers house. He loved his family and grandkids.Larry will be missed by his wife, Donna, of Marshalltown; his 10 children Walter (Teia) Anderson of Marshalltown, Beth Stanley of Ames, Jeff (Kim) Charlton of Carroll, William (Peggy) Anderson of Des Moines, Tammy (Jeff) Norman of State Center, Sonja (Ken) Davis of Melbourne, Sheila Henchel of State Center, Lisa (Rod) Powers of Lake Panorama, ChristinaAnderson of Des Moines, and Larry Anderson Jr. (Cindy) of Marshalltown; his 30 grandchildren; his 11 great-grandchildren; his brother Monte Anderson of Boone; his sister Cheryl(Gene) Wright of Cody, WY; his four-legged terrier friends Jack and Maggie; several nieces and nephews and cousins by the dozens.In death, Larry has rejoined his parents, his daughter Cindy Anderson, his sister Debbie Tesdall, and his brother Paul Anderson.
