Larry Box

Larry Box, 62, of the Iowa Veterans Home, died there early Sunday morning, November 20. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, at the Bethel Grove Church (1409 Knapp Ave, Liscomb, IA 50148) with Pastor Cynthia Moore officiating. Additional memorial services will be held for his friends and family with the Iowa Veterans home at 3:00 p.m. December 5. Memorials may be directed to the family. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Larry and his family. Ph. 641-844-1234. Born on February 12, 1949, in Ft. Dodge, Larry was the son of Donald and Dorrine (Derrig) Box. He graduated from St. Edmunds High School in Ft. Dodge and later Buena Vista University with a degree in teaching. He taught and later was a manager for Arnold Motor Supply. Larry served our country proudly in the United States Navy from July of 1968 to July of 1970. He was a member of the Bethel Grove Church. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Donald Lee Box of Humboldt, Darlene Box of Humboldt, Dixie Miller of Humboldt, seven grandchildren: Keisha, Kolton, Hailey, Donovan, BreAnna, Brooklyn, and Brewster and his siblings: Bob (the late Alice) Box of Calendar, Iowa, Cheryl (Joe) Hughlette of Marshalltown, Connie Box of Branson, MO, Carol (Justin) Schnabel of Hampton, Iowa, Colette (Jerome) Donner of Laurel, NE, Mark (Julia) Box of Sac City, Iowa, Coleen Zobrosky of Marshalltown, Carrie Box of Ft. Dodge, Dan Box of Otho, IA, Cathy (Ryan) Hobza of Wayne, NE, and Donald (Tonya) Box, Jr. of Liscomb, Iowa as well as many nieces and nephews.In death he rejoined his parents and aunts Donetta and Char.The family would like to thank the Iowa Veterans Home for the care of Larry.
