Larry "Bud" Ecklor, Jr.

Larry Ecklor, Jr., age 54, of Marshalltown, known fondly to everyone as “Bud”, passed away suddenly on Thursday night, March 26th, at the UnityPoint Health Marshalltown.           Cremation rites will be accorded and no public services will be held at this time. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Bud and his family.           Born on February 1st, 1966, in Marshalltown, he was the eldest of four sons born to Larry and Sally (Bell) Ecklor, Sr. He resided his entire life in Marshalltown and graduated from the Marshalltown High School in 1983. While at MHS, he was recipient of two of four awards given for outstanding Iowa artists in the field of cartoon drawing.           Bud was a longtime cook for area restaurants including DiGiacamos, Axel-T’s, Diamond Dave’s and Perkins. He also worked at Adland Engraving doing T-Shirts. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed cooking, gardening unique plants, art, and his cat, Root Beer, that just passed away before Bud did.           Left to cherish his memory is his mom, Sally (Clair) Demro of Marshalltown (whom Bud made his home with), his dad Larry Sr. of Marshalltown, three brothers- Dion (Michelle) Ecklor of LeGrand, Shawn (Shelley) Ecklor of Haverhill and Shane (Chrissy) Ecklor of Marshalltown, nine nieces and nephews and a host of friends.           In death, he rejoined his grandparents.
