Larry H. Gummert

Larry H. Gummert, 78, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 6:00 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2014, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Larry will be laid to rest at Iowa River Cemetery. He graduated from LeGrand High School and then attended the Police Academy. He served as a Special Agent of Chicago Northwestern Railroad for many years until his retirement. In 1989, Larry opened Three Bridges Christmas Trees and loved working the farm. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the N.R.A. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Vickie Gummert of Quarry, Iowa; son: Warren (Wendy) Gummert of LeGrand, Iowa; daughter, Becky (Don) Fuller of Maxwell, Iowa; sisters, JoAnne (Don) Donahoo of Union, Iowa; Marlene Gummert of Riverside, California; and brother, Danny Gummert of Quarry,Iowa; grandchildren: Nate (Candice) Cobb, LeAnn (Lucas) Nelson, Joel Gummert, Emily Fuller and Joshua Gummert; great-grandchildren: Jeremy Cobb, Abigail Cobb, and Isabelle Cobb. In death, Larry rejoined his parents; brother, Johnny Gummert; sister, Jackie Wells; and his brother, Warren Gummert.
