Larry Hansen

Larry Hansen, 63, of Marshalltown, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at his home. Memorial services and a celebration of Larrys life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 23, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Visitation for Larry will be held from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m., Sunday, July 22, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home where his family will be present to greet friends. Memorial contributions may be directed in Larrys name to his family.Larry was born August 20, 1948, the son of Glen Bud and Ruth (Chadsey) Hansen. He was raised and educated in Marshalltown where he graduated from the Marshalltown High School. Larry went on to Marshalltown Community College and then the University of Iowa where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree. Following graduation he worked in hotel management on the east coast for a short time before returning to Marshalltown and beginning his working career at Marshall Office Supply. During the latter part of his career Larry went on to own and operate Central Office Supply. Larry was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan of all sports, but especially football. He also enjoyed golfing and car racing. Above all he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all. Larry is survived by his daughter Sara Beth Kilborn, MD and her husband Andy of Roscoe, Illinois and his granddaughter Delia Kilborn. Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
