Larry Wayne King, 65, of Montour, died Thursday, August 21, 2008, at his home while in the care of his loving family and Iowa Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 25th, 2008, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in the Crystal Cemetery near Garwin. Friends may call at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 5-7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening. Memorials may be directed to the family. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Larry and his family. Larry Wayne King was born on November 20, 1942 in Marshalltown to Charles Clifton King and Marjorie Virginia Wilson. He attended school in Colo and graduated in 1961. He served proudly in the Iowa National Guard. Larry attended mechanic training school. On May 28, 1983, he was united in marriage to Audrey Lacina at Le Grand Friends Church. The couple lived in Marshalltown, Albion, and Montour. To this union, a son, Ryan, was born. Larry was employed with Ken Wise Buick, Lenharts Garage, Harkers in Marshalltown, Lacina Company, and was the owner of Kings Castle Auto Service. He was a firefighter with the Montour Fire Department. He enjoyed 4 X 4 mud drags and watching monster trucks and NASCAR with his son, Ryan. Surviving Larry are his wife, Audrey King, of Montour; his son, Ryan King, of Montour; his brother, Richard (Marilyn) King of Marshalltown; and his sister, Karen (Robert) Sackett of Plymouth, MN. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, and his aunt, Ruth King.
