Larry Littrel,76, of Marshalltown passed away on July 20, 2019 at Unity Point Hospital in Marshalltown with his family at his side. A memorial service for Larry will be held on Thursday, July 25 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Memorials in Larry’s name may be directed to his family. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Larry and his family.Larry Ray Littrel was born on August 26, 1942 to parents Leal and “Ted” (Evans) Littrel in Iowa City, Iowa. He grew up attending school in the Albion School district and graduated from Albion High School in the class of 1960. He worked for Lennox in Marshalltown and worked in their factory doing maintenance and quality control. In 1984 Larry was united in marriage to his wife Sheryl (Stanley). The two were married in Marshalltown, Iowa. In his free time Larry would help be a support driver for those he knew who were participating in Ragbrai. He also had a love for tractors and in his mind, there was only one right color and that was John Deere Green. He also was a fan of the Denver Broncos and enjoyed watching them on his tv. His other loves were camping, watching old western films, and old-style country music. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Sheryl; his children Judy James, Lori (Bill) Carpenter, Barb (Marcus) Pressler, and James (Christine) Littrel; he is also survived by many grandchildren and great- grandchildren; and his sister Carol Akers. In death, Larry rejoins his parents Leal and “Ted”; eight siblings; one grandson; and one great- grandson.
