Larry L. Metcalf, age 84, of Burlington, Iowa passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.

Per Larry and his family’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. No formal services have been scheduled at this time. Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation. Larry Lloyd Metcalf was born September 2, 1941, in Berwick, Illinois. He was the son of Martin Joseph and Lola Lucille (West) Metcalf. Prior to his military service, Larry attended Burlington High School in Burlington, Iowa. Between 1959 and 1963, he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. Larry worked at the J.I. Case Co., manufacturing plant, in Burlington, Iowa. He was either a mechanic and/or a painter, because he always came home wearing that bright yellow paint. Larry enjoyed listening to older country music, especially Johnny Cash. He also liked to sing and play the guitar.

He is survived by his siblings: Marita (Frank) Bennett of Tennessee, and Jerry Metcalf of Alaska.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents Martin and Lola; and his 12 siblings: Janice Jackson, Marian Logston, Helen Russel, Jean Stamper, and Martin Jr., Charles, John, James, Frank, Tom, Richard, and Lysle Metcalf.
