Larry Dean Meyer

Larry Dean Meyer, 74, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.

Larry was born August 13, 1949 in New Hampton, Iowa to parents Orval Dean and Norma Jean (Schultz) Meyer. He grew up in Cedar Falls and graduated from Cedar Falls High School. Larry honorably served his country in the United States Marines and was a member of the UAW.

After meeting the love of his life, Lorraine Petersen, they were united in marriage on December 22, 1977. Hardworking and dedicated, he worked as a machinist for John Deere until his retirement. In his free time, Larry enjoyed being at home and spending time outdoors, especially doing yardwork and fishing.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 46 years, Lorraine Meyer; his children: Bradley Meyer, Aaron Meyer and Lisa Meyer, all of Cedar Falls; and two grandchildren: Conner Alexander and Mindi Meyer; and his beloved dog, Eli.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
