Larry Norman

Larry Norman, 68, of State Center, died Saturday morning, April 7, in the loving care of the State Center Nursing and Rehab Center with his family at his side. Mr. Norman was also a patient of hospice.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in State Center with Pastor Mike Maddick officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Hillside Cemetery at State Center. Visitation will be held from 5-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be directed to his family. Ph: 641-483-2900.Born on January 20, 1944, in Mark, Davis County, Iowa, he was the son of Marvin and Lorraine (Stogill) Norman. He graduated from the Davis County High School in Bloomfield, Iowa. Following graduation, he moved to Sate Center where he worked for Verne Pfantz on the farm. He also worked at American Fire Apparatus in Marshalltown for many years before Lennox Industries until retiring after 24 years of faithful service.Larry was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in State Center and enjoyed time with his family- especially the grandchildren- and gardening.On August 24, 1963, he was united in marriage to Helen Henze at her mothers home in State Center. Their marriage was blessed with five children: the late Leona Kae (Leonard) Keltner of Colo, Denise (Chris) Dickenson of State Center, Marvin Norman of Marshalltown, Jeff (Tammy) Norman of State Center and Carl (Renee) Norman of State Center, eight dear grandchildren, two precious great-grandchildren, his mother-in-law, Inez Henze Badger of Marshalltown and sister, Linda Miller of Farmington, Iowa, as well as many friends.In death, Larry rejoined his parents, four siblings and daughter, Leona Keltner.
