Larry Stuckmyer, 83, of Henderson, formerly of Iowa, found peace in heaven on January 27, 2026.. He and his twin brother were born February 6, 1942 in Story County, Iowa to David and Edith (Weuve) Stuckmyer. Larry grew up in Minerva, Iowa and first worked for his cousin Roy laying brick and building houses. After Roy’s death, he became a welder at Dunham-Bush and then was at Lenox Industries for thirty-one years before his retirement. Larry enjoyed spending time with his family and pets, loved being outdoors to fish and BBQ, and his favorite pastime was watching sports. His teams were the Cubs, Lions, and Chiefs.
Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Motor Pool Sargent during the Vietnam War. After his basic training he was stationed at Fort Sam Houston until his honorable discharge in October of 1968. He proudly wore his Vietnam Veteran hat everywhere.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, David and Edith Stuckmyer; his first love, Connie Lou (Nuese) Stuckmyer, twin brother, Daryl Stuckmyer, sister, Alice(Jim) Scovill; and infant twin children, Amanda Stuckmyer and Brian Stuckmyer.
Survivors include his wife of thirty years, Lori Stuckmyer; children, Darla(Daniel) Rowley, Tonja Stuckmyer, Michael (Kristin) Stuckmyer, Jordan Stuckmyer, Maleah (Michael) Stuckmyer-Welsch; brother-in-law, Everett (Kathy) Cook; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
A memorial service will be held Memorial Day Weekend for Larry in Green Mountain,Iowa at the Lion’s Club building where he and Lori held their wedding reception
