She received her education in the area of her birth and later graduated from the Marshalltown Community College with her Associates Degree in 2008. She was blessed with the art of cooking. Having her own home-based caf, Lauras Homestyle Cooking, she was able to bake cakes for special events and family birthdays. She loved to cook and shared that passion with others. Having a big heart, she never turned down the chance to help others, so she took that love of cooking and brought it many times to the House of Compassion where she could give to others or when called upon for anyone else. Laura loved fishing, horses and spending time with others. On April 17th, 2006, she was united in marriage to Steve Baker. She will be greatly missed by him as well as children- Jonathan, Crystal, Misty and Kelli; grandchildren-Harley, Austin, Ashton, Kaleb, Calie, Hannah, Kanns and Justin. Also missing her are Cameron and Madison Baker, brother Eddie Estes, sister Barbara Estes, brother-in-law Chris Baker and mother-in-law Carol Baker as well as many friends and family. In death, Laura rejoined her parents, grandson Dallas, father-in-law Robert Baker and precious four-legged fur-baby, Jake.
