Laurie Marie McMahon, 61, of Marshalltown, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2016 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Memorial service for Laurie will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at St Marys Catholic Church in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family. Laurie Worden was born on September 11, 1954 in Marshalltown to James and LaVonne Pugh Worden. She graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1972 and went on to Hawkeye Tech. Laurie was united in marriage to Tim McMahon on November 2, 1979 at St Marys Catholic Church in Marshalltown. Laurie had worked as a laboratory technician at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown until her retirement in September of 2014. She enjoyed gardening, doing crafts and enjoyed caring for all animals, especially dogs and cats. Above all else, Laurie enjoyed the time spent with her family. Laurie is survived by her husband of 36 years, Tim, daughter Emily McMahon, mother LaVonne Worden and her siblings, Lesa (Terry) Lynn, Joseph Worden and Julie (David) Stalzer. Laurie is preceded in death by her father James and son Christopher Patrick.
