Laurie Ann Nelson

Laurie Nelson, Age 59, of Montour, Iowa, passed away on the evening of December 2, 2024 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown, Iowa.

Laurie Ann Nelson was born on January 1, 1965 in Rapid City, South Dakota. She was one of four children born to Arthur and Carole (Miglia) Nelson Sr. Laurie attended school the Iowa School for the Deaf in Council Bluffs, Iowa. After graduating with the class of 1984, she and her family moved to Montour, Iowa. Laurie worked for over 20 years at the Town and Country Vet, helping out part-time as she was able. As an avid animal lover, she truly enjoyed every minute of it. She also had a great time going to Meskwaki Bingo and Casino with her sister from time to time.

Those left to remember and cherish her memory are her father, Art Nelson Sr.; her siblings, Arthur (Rachel) Nelson Jr., Terrie Nelson and Teresa (Lincoln) Bartusek; numerous nieces and nephews and her special friend, Stanley Maynard of Cedar Rapids, IA.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Carole Nelson and her paternal and maternal grandparents.
