LaVerne Huseboe, 92, of Marshalltown, died Monday, October 3, 2011, at the Iowa River Hospice House. Funeral services for LaVerne will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 7, at the Central Christian Church. Visitation for LaVerne will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 6, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home where her family will be present to greet friends. Memorial contributions may be directed in her name to either Central Christian Church or Iowa River Hospice House. LaVerne was born December 1, 1918, in Liscomb, Iowa, the daughter of Ben and Bessie Clemons Duffy. She received her education in Kansas graduating from Chapman Kansas High School in 1937. On July 12, 1946, she was married to Merle Huseboe in Ottawa, Illinois. She was employed by the Iowa Veterans Home, Marshalltown Manufacturing and was employed for 24 years at Cooper Manufacturing when she retired. LaVerne was a member of Central Christian Church, DWF (Disciples Women Fellowship), UAW retiree, a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and loved voluntary work and several different places. LaVerne is survived by her two sons; Steve Huseboe and Rick (Sharon) Huseboe, both of Marshalltown, one granddaughter Nannette (Phil) Beddow, and one great-grandson, Zechary Beddow, her sisters Bernadelle Lilly of Marshalltown, Charlotte (Harold) Lancaster of Scottsdale, Arizona, Helen Stonewall of Peotone, Illinois, her two brothers: John (Bernice) Duffy of Marshalltown and Wallace (Shirley) Duffy of Arizona, her sister-in-law Zola Duffy of Iowa Falls and many nieces and nephews. LaVerne was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-three years, who died on August 13, 1979, her parents, three sisters: Bernadean, Luella Poe, Pearl Hennis, five brothers: Clarence, Dale, Glen, Marion and Merle Duffy.
