Laverne Lepley

Laverne Lepley, 78, of Marshalltown died December 25th, 2008 at Cedar Falls Health Care Center. A memorial service celebrating Lavernes life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 3rd at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the family. Laverne was born March 10th, 1930 near Union, Iowa to parents Claire and Hazel (Borton) Lepley. He attended school in Marshalltown. On July 6th, 1951, Laverne was united in marriage to Beverly Olsen at Elim Lutheran Church in Marshalltown. Laverne and Beverly lived their married lives in Marshalltown. Laverne worked at Fisher Controls for 40 years, retiring in 1988. He enjoyed NASCAR, collecting model tractors, and dogs- especially his dog Buddy. Left to cherish Lavernes memory is his loving wife Beverly, as well as his nieces, nephews, and cousins. In death, Laverne has rejoined his parents, daughter Janet Kay Lepley (1958), and sister Margaret Stubbs.
