Lawrence 'Larry' C. Elsberry

Lawrence Larry C. Elsberry, 87, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on December 11, 2014 at Gladbrook Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Hope United Methodist Church in Marshalltown, Iowa. Elsberry was born December 11, 1927 to John Frederick and Leona Edna (Bellus) Elsberry in Pembine, Wisconsin. The family moved back to Iowa when he was 2 months old, where he grew up and attended school in the Ferguson School district. Larry was united in marriage to Helen Juanita Wyant on July 16, 1950. He worked at Marshalltown Trowel Co. from 1946 to 1952, Winter Dairy from, 1953 to 1965, and enjoyed Farming for several years. He was in direct sales from 1978 to 1986. In August of 1986 Larry and Helen moved to Mission Viejo, CA where he worked for LT Excavation with his son David for 19 years and in June of 2006 returned home to Marshalltown. Those left to cherish Larrys memory is his wife, Helen Elsberry of Marshalltown, IA; children: David (Pam) Elsberry, Ronald (Linda) Elsberry, Cheryl (Bill) Vopinek, and his sister; Ellen Morgan, seven grandchildren; Lauren Jean Elsberry, Tristen Elsberry, Heather Elsberry, Megan Rodgers, Jonathon Vopinek, William Vopinek III, Christopher Vopinek, four step grandchildren: Justin Luther, Kathy Cerwin, Scott Willett, Jason Willett, eight great grandchildren: Jacob, Elijah, Mason, Kie, Logan, Levi, Savannah, Penelope, and eight great step grandchildren: Michael, Austin, MacKenzie, Hudson, Drake, Taryn, Kiernan, Landon Larry was preceded in death by his parents, John Fredrick and Leona (Bellus) Elsberry, brothers: Vernon, Glenn, Lynn, Harold, Wayne, Junior and his great granddaughter, Savannah.
