Lawrence Spencer

Lawrence Spencer, 61, of Marshalltown, died early Thursday morning, October 9th, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. A memorial service and celebration of Lawrences life will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Lawrences cremation and care. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Born on February 2, 1947, he was one of twin sons born to Scott and Daisy (Johnson) Spencer in Marshalltown. He graduated from the Marshalltown High School in 1966. Lawrence had been employed at Fisher Controls, the United States Postal Service in Des Moines and most recently Midland Transportation in Marshalltown. He loved to play pool and party and had a heart of gold. Surviving are two sons: Demond in California and Curtis in Marshalltown, his siblings: Frank (Colleen) and Marvin (Theresa) all of Waterloo, Craig (Carol) and Julian all of Marshalltown and several nieces, nephews and friends. In death he has rejoined his parents, brothers Claude, Clyde, Calvin and Wayne and twin brother Leonard, sisters Daisy Ann, Barbara Jean and Pearl Winston.
