Lee Roger Judge

Lee Roger Judge, age 85, of rural Garwin, passed away early Sunday morning, September 18th, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 21st, at the Living Faith United Methodist Church Montour Center in Montour. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until service time. He will be laid to rest in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown. Born on September 9th, 1937, in rural Tama County, he was the son of Harold Ellsworth and Martha Edith (Earhart) Judge. He graduated from the LeGrand High School.

On October 10th, 1958, he was united in marriage to Karen Parrish in Marshalltown at her parent’s home. They farmed near Garwin all of their married lives. Lee also was employed as a machinist at Fisher Controls.

He enjoyed farming, playing cards, local bridge clubs, hosting horseshoe tournaments, dirt track racing, camping at the Iowa State Fair and the lake, wintering in Florida, fishing in Wisconsin and family gatherings where everyone was welcome. He was a member of the Farm Bureau.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Lorrie Damman of Montour and son Timothy (Jill) of Upper Arlington, OH., six grandchildren: Matthew (Amy) Damman, Michael Damman, Abby Judge, Adam (Sadeigh) Damman, Martha Judge, and Carsten Judge, his great-grandchildren Bailey, Natilee, Alexander and Henry, sister Beverly Judge of New Smyrna Beach, FL., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In death, Lee rejoined his parents, his son Christopher who died in infancy, his beloved Karen who passed in 2010, brothers Wayne and Dallas, and in-laws Herb and Ida Parrish.
